Joseph R. Nemeth DDS & Associates Install Innovative PhotoLight Ceiling Panels Southfield Dentist First To Experiment With Backlit Ceiling Art Southfield, Mich., Oct. 22, 2004 - Joseph R. Nemeth DDS & Associates, a periodontaltreatment practice located in Southfield, Mich., recently installed six PhotoLight Ceiling Panels by local award-winning photographer Monte Nagler. Nagler is a former apprentice of renowned photographer Ansel Adams. The ceiling panels have been installed to help deflect patients' anxiety in the dentist chair - a common feeling described by many people who visit the dentist. The panels work to stimulate imagination and engage the body's relaxation response through scenes from Nagler's original artwork. "Our patients have been very receptive to the PhotoLight Panels," said Laurie Clark, a hygienist in Dr. Nemeth's office. "The photography takes our patients' minds off the dental work and helps them relax. The photo in my treatment room is an image from Zion National Park in Utah. So far, everyone has really enjoyed it." The following six scenes are included in Dr. Nemeth's PhotoLight Panel collection: Mt. Moran in the Teton Mountains, Wyoming; Biking Among Flowers in Italy; Ballenberg, Switzerland; Birch Trees in Glacier National Park, Montana, Gold Hill in 5haftesbury, England; and Zion National Park in Utah. The PhotoLight Ceiling Panels are one of many ways Nemeth puts his patients at ease. A comfortable, living room-like waiting area, state-of-the art laser procedures that reduce pain and speed healing, sedation, microsurgical techniques, individual attention from treatment assignment coordinators, and transportation options are just some of the additional ways Nemeth's office works to lessen anxiety for its patients. "More and more health care facilities today recognize the importance of the healing environment," said Nemeth. "If these images can improve our patients' experience and begin the healing process even in a small way, it will be well worth the investment." Joseph R. Nemeth DDS & Associates is well respected throughout Southeastern Michigan. For more than 25 years, Dr- Nemeth has successfully treated periodontal disease, reshaped smiles, and restored self-confidence in people who were embarrassed to smile because of gum disease, misshapen or missing teeth, or other irregularities. Dr. Nemeth's place on the leading edge in periodontics is distinguished by a number of firsts. In 1990, his practice was the first in the United States to use lasers in periodontics. Currently, he and his staff have five lasers available for periodontal and cosmetic procedures. In 1998, Nemeth's became one of the first practices in Michigan to provide periodontal microsurgery, which has helped to achieve excellent cosmetic results for his patients.
